Congratulations to Bear River X-C for another awesome performance at the Reno Twilight Invitational last Friday night: JV runners Sierra Mitchell, Alex Coffman, and Gerry Williams were outstanding, with Sierra finishing 25th in 22:04, Gerry at 17:56 (11th place), while Alex finished 2nd in 16:51. Varsity boys Eric LaPlante and Jordan Halleib, competing in a super elite field that included nationally ranked runners, finished at 16:42 (36th) and 16:08 (30th) respectively. Lady Bruin varsity girls placed 4th overall in team competition- led by Breanne Mitchell, who won her second straight

event- covering the 4000 meter course in 16:49, while Elizabeth Boyer finished 41st in 20:21; Harla Moe, 27th,  in 19:21; Chelsea Andrews, 21st, in 19:00; and Seaera Moe, 9th, in 17:50. Bruin X-C travels to Rosemont High School this Saturday to compete in one of the area's premiere venues: The Wolverine Invitational.  (Davia)

SENIORS: It’s very important that you have your senior portraits taken! Seniors who are not photographed before October 30, run the risk of not being pictured in the yearbook. Call one of the photographers listed below to set up your appointment. The cost for a yearbook photo is $5. Because of district guidelines, you must have your photo taken by one of these companies. We apologize for any inconvenience, but no outside photos will be accepted. Please see Mrs. Ross (room A-209) if you have any questions. MEETINGS:

Barbara Ross will be in the Career Center on Wednesday’s during lunch and Bruin Time starting today, Sept. 8, to share about and assist with scholarships.  (Ross)

 

All boys’ interested in playing volleyball this season MUST meet in room F-107 Thursday at lunch.  (Mansuetti)

 

Attention all students. FNL/ S.T.A.R.T. is welcoming any new members interested in promoting tolerance and acceptance in our school. FNL/Club S.T.A.R.T. is a club founded upon the ideals of respect for others, tolerance, and hope for our future. We promote events such as the Day Of Silence, Mix It Up Day, and other national tolerance days. We meet weekly at lunch in B101, on Thursdays. COME JOIN THE FUN! (Smith)

 

Bear River's PTSA has opportunities available for college bound students looking for leadership positions.  There are three positions open this year:  second vice-president, parliamentarian, and historian. Our first meeting will be held this evening in room C-202 starting at 7:00 pm. Please see Mrs. Reafsnyder or contact the PTSA president, LeeAnn Halleib, for more information (lhalleib@yahoo.com) or just come to the meeting with a short speech prepared as to how you believe our parent/student association can take Bear River from Good to GREAT!!

 

 

PARENTS:

BRHS Grad Night 2011 planning will begin with our first meeting of the year on Monday, September 20th (please note the date change).  We will meet at 7pm in the BRHS Teacher's lounge.  All Adults are welcome to attend this plannning meeting - you don't have to have a senior to join us.  Grad Night is a great opportunity to meet other parents and work on a project that helps not only our graduating seniors but our community as well.  Come join us!
