January 4-22, 2010 MIDDLE SCHOOL VISITS
~Ghidotti staff will visit middle schools to present the Ghidotti option to 8thgrade students.
January 28 (Thursday, 6:30 pm) INFORMATION MEETING last name starting with A-H
~Ghidotti Parent and Student Information Meeting for students held at Sierra College in room N6101.
February 2 (Tuesday, 6:30 pm) INFORMATION MEETING last name starting with I-P
~Ghidotti Parent and Student Informational Meeting for students held at NEVADA UNION HIGH SCHOOL, SCIENCE LECTURE HALL.
February 3 (Wednesday, 6:30 pm) INFORMATION MEETING last name starting with Q-Z
~Ghidotti Parent and Student Informational Meeting for students held at Sierra College in Room N6101.
February 8-25 STUDENT SHADOWING
~If not already decided, a potential student may make a reservation to shadow a Ghidotti student two hours on a school
day. He/she will attend a class and tour the campus. (Call the Ghidotti office at 530-274-5270 to reserve a time.)
February 26 (Friday, noon) APPLICATION DEADLINE
~Applications to attend Ghidotti during 2009-2010 are due in the school office, N7 210, on the Sierra College campus by
12:00 noon. (Although we accept applications year round, only those students whose applications are received by this date
will be considered in the first round of interviews and selection.)
March 5 (Friday) or March 6 (Saturday) STUDENT INTERVIEWS
~ Each student applicant will be invited to a 15-minute personal interview on the Sierra College campus.
March 26 (Friday) DECISION LETTERS MAILED
~Letters of acceptance or denial to attend Ghidotti for the 2010-2011 school year mailed to applicants.
April 15 (Thursday, 6:30 pm) COLLEGE ORIENTATION/COURSE SELECTION last name starting with A-L ~
High school course selection and college (mandatory) orientation meetings for new Ghidotti students and families held on the
Sierra College campus in room N6101.
COLLEGE ASSESSMENT~ any student past geometry must take a sierra college math assessment. Counselors will have
more information at the orientation.
May COLLEGE REGISTRATION~ Sierra College will open registration for fall 2010 classes. Incoming students should
have completed Sierra College registration by this date. (Information about the process will be available at the high school
course selection and college orientation meetings on April 16 and 21.)
May TBA (if needed) The second batch of applications will be reviewed and interviews will be scheduled based on space
availability. (If all available spots have been filled during the March round of interviews, additional interviews may not be held in
May.)
May TBA (if needed) The second high school course selection and college orientation meeting for new Ghidotti students and families will be held on the Sierra College campus in room L101.
NOTES
Students who are applying for Ghidotti, as their school of first choice for 2009-2010 should go ahead and register for Nevada Union or Bear River High School (assuming one of these two is their second choice) while they are waiting to find out if they have been accepted at Ghidotti.
The Ghidotti principal, counselor, and office manager are available to discuss the Ghidotti option with parents and students and to answer any questions. Feel free to call us at 530-274-5270.
